2. Data we collect

Information you give us

  • Enquiries: your name, company, email address, phone number and anything you include in your message when you email us or use the contact form on this site. When you use the contact form, your enquiry is emailed to us and a copy is kept in a secure, access-restricted file on our web server so that no enquiry is lost. We also record the IP address the form was sent from and the time, to prevent spam and abuse.
  • Customers: contact and billing details, order and licence information (for example product, number of devices, licence keys and renewal dates), and records of support requests.
  • Suppliers and partners: business contact details of the people we deal with.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time, to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see section 9. We only use optional cookies if you agree to them.

We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health information) and ask that you do not send it to us.

3. How and why we use it

The UK GDPR requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of personal data:

Optional analytics and marketing cookiesConsent, which you can withdraw at any time
Establishing, exercising or defending legal claimsLegitimate interests

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced our interests against your rights and you can object at any time (see section 8). We do not sell your data, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

4. Who we share it with

We only share personal data where necessary, with:

  • Software and security vendors and distributors (for example, Avast / Gen Digital) where needed to register, issue or renew the licences you buy.
  • Service providers who support our business, such as website hosting, email, IT, payment and accounting providers. They act on our instructions and must keep your data secure.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers.
  • Authorities such as HMRC, the police or regulators, where the law requires it.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is reorganised or sold, under equivalent protections.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. When this happens, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another safeguard recognised under UK data protection law. Contact us for more information.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries (including contact form records) that do not lead to an order: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Contact form anti-spam data: a one-way coded (hashed) form of your IP address, deleted automatically after one hour.
  • Customer, order and invoice records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Marketing preferences: until you opt out; we keep a record of opt-outs so we respect them.
  • Server logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider for security purposes.
  • Your cookie choice: 12 months, after which we ask again.

7. Security

As a cybersecurity-focused business, we use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, endpoint protection and up-to-date software. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the ICO of a personal data breach where the law requires.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
